Hotels to consider for your trip

These are options to compare by location and travel plans, not a ranking.

Room layouts, facilities and booking conditions may change. Confirm them with the hotel and on the booking page before payment.

For a day combining Singapore’s museums and riverfront, start in the Civic District and finish at Boat Quay. Alternate indoor visits with outdoor walks, choosing your hotel by the return journey and room conditions. This itinerary focuses on downtown architecture, art and riverside dining rather than Sentosa or shopping.

Choose one museum, then continue to the river

Interior architecture at National Gallery Singapore
Interior architecture at National Gallery Singapore, not a record of the current exhibition layout.

At National Gallery, housed in the former City Hall and Supreme Court buildings, look at the architecture as well as the art. The indicated walk from City Hall MRT Exit B via the Art Connector is about 7 minutes; allow extra time for photographs and navigation. Choosing exhibitions beforehand can shorten your route inside.

As checked on 21 October 2026, the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery is temporarily closed, with reopening planned for late 2027. Do not assume every gallery is available: check the exhibitions open on your date and what your ticket covers. If your preferred exhibition is unavailable, consider the Asian Civilisations Museum at Empress Place by the river instead.

Rather than filling your day with both, decide how much time to spend indoors and choose one. Afterwards, walk from Empress Place over Cavenagh Bridge towards Fullerton to see both sides of the river. The walk does not require a hotel stay, but building access and dining remain subject to each venue’s rules.

Dinner at Boat Quay and a shorter route for wet weather

Boat Quay's dining street illuminated at night
Boat Quay in the evening. Individual businesses' opening arrangements may differ on your visit.

Compare Boat Quay’s riverside restaurants and bars. Look beyond waterside seats to menu prices, indoor seating and the direction of your hotel. For a late evening, your route back after dinner matters when choosing a base. Lighting and crowd levels may differ from the photograph.

Try a morning Civic District walk, an indoor visit during opening hours, a rest, then Empress Place and Cavenagh Bridge before dinner at Boat Quay. Timing depends on weather and how much you want to see. October and November can bring afternoon and early-evening thunderstorms, so retain a wet-weather alternative. Stop outdoor activities and move to safe indoor shelter when thunder occurs.

If long walks in the heat are difficult, do not attempt the whole riverfront in one outing. Add a hotel rest or use a vehicle for part of the journey. Check the MRT exit and actual entrance separately on your map. For a trip with parents, see the Singapore accommodation guide for trips with parents (Korean). Fullerton and Swissotel: a riverfront return or City Hall start

Exterior of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
The Fullerton Hotel Singapore exterior. This is not The Fullerton Bay Hotel.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is at 1 Fullerton Square. Use the hotel’s estimate of about 3 minutes on foot from Raffles Place MRT Exit H when considering access. It is worth comparing as a place to return to after a river walk. The Quay Room is 36–39 m² with a river view; those conditions do not apply to every category. Check the view of your booked room alongside its exact name. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore · Check rooms on Agoda

Swissotel The Stamford Singapore is at 2 Stamford Road, with City Hall and Esplanade MRT stations and Raffles City as useful reference points. Compare it as a starting base for the Civic District. The Premier category is 40 m² and is described with a city-view balcony. A city view does not mean a direct Marina Bay view. Swissotel The Stamford Singapore · Check rooms on Agoda

Start with Fullerton for resting after a river walk, or Swissotel for departing from City Hall. If cost matters more than the view, do not make a view category essential. A room’s total area is not all free floor space for luggage.

Raffles and Pickering: a spacious suite or a choice of beds

Raffles Singapore is at 1 Beach Road, approached via City Hall or Esplanade station. The State Room Suite King is 67 m² with a separate bathtub and walk-in shower. Compare it alongside your walking itinerary if you want ample time to rest at the hotel. Check the address so you do not accidentally book Raffles Sentosa based on the name alone. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore is at 3 Upper Pickering Street. The hotel gives a walk of about 2 minutes from Chinatown MRT. Urban Deluxe rooms are 28–32 m² with a choice of king or twin beds. Decide the bed arrangement for two people first, then check which option is actually available on the booking page. Two people needing separate beds should not select a king room. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore · Check rooms on Agoda

Pickering announced a temporary pool closure and alternative swimming arrangements during Wellness Floor works on 12–25 October 2026. Recheck facility operations on your stay dates; alternative swimming is not the same as access to the hotel’s own pool. If swimming is central to your trip, hold off booking Pickering during the works.

Compare Fullerton for returning from the river, Swissotel for starting at City Hall, Raffles for suite-based rest, and Pickering for bed options on the Chinatown side. The exterior photos show only Fullerton and Raffles, not the other hotels or room views. Compare tax-inclusive totals and cancellation terms for identical dates and guest counts, then check the chosen room conditions at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore · Check rooms on Agoda or PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore · Check rooms on Agoda.
